2,000th Twitter Follower Contest

(with a tip o' the hat to @greenspace01, who inspired it)

To celebrate my upcoming two-thousandth Twitter follower, I'm holding a contest. The rules are pretty simple:

  1. This contest is only open to my Twitter followers. If you want to enter and you're not following me, it's pretty easy to follow me!
  2. Come up with a title for a theoretical THIRD book about Fanboy and Goth Girl.
  3. Tweet that title with @barrylyga somewhere in your tweet so that I will see it.

That's it!

The contest will run from now through the end of August. If, by, the end of August, I still do not have 2,000 Twitter followers, I'll extend it.

I will pick my favorite title. Note that I didn't say "best title" or "most likely title." I said "favorite." That means that one that I like a lot but might never, ever be used for an actual title could win. So if you don't win, please don't e-mail and say, "But the winning title could never be a real book title!" or "But that's a stupid title for a book!" That's not the point of the contest. It might very well be a stupid title for a book, but if I like it, it wins.

I will also pick four runners-up.

The winner will receive a signed book and one of the rare remaining Goth Girl minimates!

The runners-up will all receive Goth Girl minimates as well!

Now for the, sadly, necessary disclaimers:

  1. Just because I'm having a contest for a third Fanboy and Goth Girl book title does not mean I'm working on a third book or intend to write one. This is just for fun. So please don't ask me about a third book.
  2. By entering this contest, you give up your title freely, meaning that if I ever decide to use it, I can. (The odds of me actually doing this are beyond astronomical, but I guess I have to protect myself here...)
  3. And hey, guess what? You're posting your title in public -- someone else might use it someday, too! By posting in public, you take that risk. if you have the World's Greatest Title in mind and think you might want to use it yourself someday, I strongly suggest you keep it to yourself.

Have fun!
