Wednesday Warren - Keep Me In Your Heart

Posted on: 03/16/11

So, you're dying. There's no question about it; no possible saving throw on the horizon. You're dying and you say goodbye to the people you love.

Or, if you're a friggin' musical genius like Warren Zevon, you write the song "Keep Me In Your Heart," quite possibly the most beautiful farewell ever written and sung, including this lyric:

Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile
You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for a while

Wow.

The Wind defines both what it means, as a musician, to say goodbye to your fellow musicians and your public, as well as the pain of being left behind.
